My First Gig - VMS Voice Instructor Cindy Vaughan

We asked all of our teachers here at VMS: What was your first gig? Here is voice instructor Cindy Vaughan's story of her first time performing in front of an audience!                                                                             <!--break-->

I am told I was 3 years old. My sisters complained that they were always "stuck" babysitting me, so they would just bring me everywhere they went. I do remember spending lots of time with their teenage friends, and they used to put me on the stool (or counter) at the snack bar in the neighborhood drugstore (I guess that was their "hangout") and I used to sing and entertain their friends from my "stage" shared with fries and milkshakes! My favorite song was "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini".

Thank you, to my sisters, for starting my music career at age 3!
