Columbus band Under The Sun began their recording process at VMS in mid-2013 and will be completing their album “One Life” in the coming month.  The six-piece band blends a variety of genres such as Rock 'n' Roll, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Latin, Groove, Electronic and Psychedelia to create their signature sound.  The band told us about the writing process for this album: “A few of the songs were revised older tunes, however, a majority of the tunes on ‘One Life’ were songs created over the past couple years. Many members of the band wear different hats in the writing process including writing lyrics, song arrangement, and formulating riffs.”  The band consists of Danny Shuttleworth on Lead Vocals & Acoustic Guitars,  Jack Lewis on Guitar, Chase Williams on Guitar & Vocals,  Jeff Kassner on Bass, Josh Heber on Drums & Vocals, and Tyler Austin on keys. Josh & Tyler also performed auxillary percussion on “One Life”.

“We had a blast setting our stuff up in the live recording room and listening back to the arrangements we had planned. It was a very eye opening experience for all of us and we were very pleased to have our work recorded at such a high quality.” said the band.

‘One Life’ will be available on iTunes and Amazon, as well as at all Under The Sun concerts.  The band regularly performs at Woodland's Tavern, Scarlet & Gray Cafe, Skullys Music Diner, and Newport Music Hall. Click here to visit Under The Sun’s Facebook page for their latest updates.
